Budithi in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh is home to artisans who create beautiful shapes out of alloys, ranging from charmingly traditional items to elegantly modern ones. The art form is employed for creating traditional cooking utensils and also flower pots and planters. Made of brass, the objects feature patterns that are geometric, with straight lines and curves forming simple and striking presentations. It was registered as one of the geographical indication handicrafts from Andhra Pradesh as per Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act, 1999.
