The Andhra Pradesh Shilparamam Arts, Crafts & Cultural Society is an autonomous Society under Tourism& Culture Dept., Govt. of A.P. This new body was registered on 05-07-2018 with No. 128 of 2018 in terms of G.O. Ms. No. 38, dated: 14-06-2018 under AP Societies Registration Act, 2001.
Shilparamam strives to prevent the fading and decay of crafts and arts, which is a vital part of rural lives and constitutes what may be termed the spirit or soul of people. It is the sustenance from which are born the myriad creative forms on which posterity grows, thrives and burgeons into ever-new revitalized generations.
Bring our myriad arts and crafts back to their original glory, Shilparamam hosts a multitude of ethnic art, crafts and culture displays from all over the country.
The main objectives of Andhra Pradesh Shilparamam Arts, Crafts & Cultural Society is to establish centers of visual arts, creativity, crafts and culture for their promotion and create awareness about the arts and crafts of people of Andhra Pradesh through these centers. To act as centers where tourists and locals can experience the Telugu art, craft and culture and encourage in setting up of Craft villages and to create an environment for preservation of national crafts and also innovate, develop and promote the Handicrafts of India in general and southern state of AP in particular. Our objectives are to educate the people about the value of their rich cultural heritage, conduct cultural activities, arts and craft camps, provide technical/marketing/development/skill upgradation or any other training to the crafts persons of any establishment or enterprise of any description whatsoever which is likely to facilitate or accelerate the development of Handicrafts. To educate women in various fields of Arts, crafts and culture; create interest among the people for taking part actively in arts and cultural activities; aid, advice and assist the interest of Handicrafts and to provide them with means, resources and technical and managerial assistance for the execution of their works to enable them to develop and improve their methods of manufacture, management, marketing and techniques of production.
We work towards effective coordination between the Society and National Small Industries Corporation, the Handicrafts and Handloom Export Corporation and the Development Commissioners (Handicrafts/Handlooms) or any state local authority to help in the promotion of creations of the Handicrafts and Handlooms. We undertake market survey, market research across important markets in other states of India and collect and compile statistics to give publicity regarding the information and to contact foreign buyers for the export of handicraft products. To prepare and publish pricelist catalogues, pamphlets, brochures and such other publicity material for promotion of sales. We aid or assist handicrafts’ industrial units, whether co-operative or private enterprises by providing financial assistance against finished products either by out-right purchase at an agreed price or on warehouse principle with nominal interest charges as may be fixed by the Society.
Establish agencies in India and elsewhere and conduct or permit any other agency to conduct exhibitions and seminars within the state/country and elsewhere to promote the objectives of the Society. To implement any scheme which the Government of India or the State Government of Andhra Pradesh may formulate for the development of Arts, Crafts, Culture and Heritage and Tourism and implement any activity or scheme that will improve the livelihood of Artists, Artisans, Cultural Activities and promote tourism in the state. Generally, to do all such other matters and things as may appear to be incidental to the interest of and attainment of the objectives of the Society.
