Lambadi is a special form of dance practiced by Nomadic tribes in
Andhra Pradesh. Lambadi dance, mainly involves female dancers who
dance in tune with male drummers, as part of homage to their god for a
good harvest.
Lambadi is a special folk dance where tribal women participate
actively, by bedecking themselves in colorful costumes and jewellery.
Lambada’s are the semi nomadic tribes of Andhra Pradesh. The women
wear saree in Rajasthani style while dancing, which is decorated with
mirrors and sequin along with ivory bangles and ornaments.
The artistic feminine movements of Lambadi Dancers are quite delightful to watch and rhythmic. When the drums are played, the dance gains a special momentum as well as sensuousness. The Lambadi Dance is mostly inspired from the daily chores of these tribes like sowing, harvesting, and planting etc.
